Mandarina restaurant forms part of the special boutique hotel, Casa las Tortugas, and has one of the best beach locations on the island. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this beachside eatery is a wonderful place to enjoy a quality meal in paradise.
Mandarina opens up fully onto Holbox’s main beach with tables inside, on their covered decking, and on the beach itself, feet in the sand. The view from the restaurant is truly amazing with the crystal turquoise-green sea just metres away. The restaurant’s interior is classily decorated with hand-picked restored furniture, large cushions, and a clean, fresh look. Stunning during the day, even more so at night with beautiful lighting across the front of the restaurant – a great place to watch the sunset.
Breakfasts in Mandarina are popular, serving a range of typical Mexican dishes such as chilaquiles as well as other tasty international options, such as French toast, Croque Madame, and delicious homemade waffles with nutella and pancakes. The varied lunch and dinner menus have something for everyone – fresh salads, homemade pastas, sandwiches, and mouthwatering fish, seafood and meat dishes. Don’t miss the rack of lamb in the evening; if you’re a meat eater, you’ll be dreaming of this dish long after your vacation. All meals are served with fresh homemade bread, jam in the morning and tasty pesto in the afternoon. The food and drinks are of excellent quality using only the freshest of local ingredients.
Mandarina is also a great place to come for an afternoon drink in the sun. They have comfortable benches and beach chairs open to the public in front of the restaurant where you can enjoy a fresh smoothie or squeezed juice - they have two pages’ worth to choose from - a cold beer or a yummy fruit cocktail. And if you want to have a romantic evening with your special someone, Mandarina also organizes personalized private beach dinners – the perfect way to celebrate each other while away.
And finally, don’t miss the upcoming Mandarina Roof, opening soon. As the name suggest, it’s situated on top of the beach restaurant and will be serving fresh ceviches, sushi and artisan mezcal cocktails.
