Have you been gazing dreamily at those lucky surfer-looking girls and guys as they skim through the water on their kiteboards? Ever wanted to try something new, but never plucked up the courage to try? Well, now is your chance. From November to May, Holbox offers you the perfect weather conditions whether you’re a complete beginner or a semi-pro.

Holbox Kiteboard School has been a fixture on the island for a number of years, inspiring hundreds of keen water sports enthusiasts to become ‘Kiters’. This professional and tightly run school has a team of highly certified and qualified instructors, speaking both English and Spanish (and Italian, German and even Czech!). Patient, friendly, and more importantly, safety conscious, they will guide you through the process of learning from handling the kite to body dragging to getting you up on the board. They even have their own rescue boat just in case you find yourself struggling to get back to the shore.

As well as kite lessons for all levels, Holbox Kiteboarding School also rents kite equipment for those more experienced kiters on holiday without their gear. You can also rent paddleboards by the hour – a relaxing and fun way to see the island from a different perspective.

So why not take the plunge (quite literally) and have a go while you’re in paradise? If you don’t want to fully commit to a full set of classes just yet, the school also offers fun one-day taster sessions. Having said that, we’re certain you’ll be hooked on your first try.
